Northumberland Under 25's Double Rink lost out in the regional semi-final to Yorkshire by a single shot (39-40)

Challenge Cup

Following yesterday's semi-finals this years Challenge Cup final will be contested by Seaton Sluice, Willington Quay, Fossway, Health & Security, Backworth Welfare and the winner of section F which is still to be decided. The Final is scheduled for Saturday 15th July at Alnwick B.C.

N Craig (BU) v A Daley (AK) semi final at Morpeth has been CANCELLED due to unforseen circumstances.


Alsop Cup v Cumbria

Northumberland will be hoping to bounce back from a narrow defeat to Durham in their last outing when they entertain Cumbria this weekend at Ponteland B.C.

Middleton Joy but agonising defeat in the Alsop

Northumberland defeated Cumbria by 12 shots in the Middleton today (17th June) and collected 16 of the 22 match points and head the Group with one fixture remaining, away to Lincolnshire in 3-weeks time. In the Alsop we narrowly lost to Durham (2 shots) despite winning on 4 of the 6 rinks.


International recognition

Gosforth's Chris Yeomans has been added to England's 2018 Commonwealth Games Squad, there are now 9 men in the squad competing for the 5 places within the team which will be announced later in the year. Chris has also been invited to represent England in the European team championships in Jersey in September.


Top Club

St Georges BC defeated New Delavel 3-2 this evening (Tues 20th June) and are Northumberland's only remainining contender in this competition. Next up will be an away trip to the winners of the Durham tie between Dipton and Barnes Park.


Club Two Fours

Gosforth defeated New Delaval by 12 shots in the second round of this event and now face an away trip to play Stockton BC. In the other tie involving Northumberland clubs St Georges defeated NSWE (58-22) and now entertain Whitehaven BC, with the tie being played this coming Saturday (24th June) at Haltwhistle.
