Bowls Northumberland website will be changing soon - with a launch of a new website. 

We will keep you all posted of when this is exactly happening.

Latest News - Mens
County Trial

There will be a County Trial in order to select the county teams for this coming season. The trial will take place on Saturday 12th May at Backworth Welfare BC commencing at 2pm - and not April 21st as originally advised.

Further details will be given in due course.

For ANY member that has not nominated as yet, and you are interested in representing the county please contact G.E Batey, J Holmes /  M Wilson or K Rowe.

Competition Draws 2018

The 2018 competiton draws are now available. Links to the competitions can be found under the 'Women' header and then 'Competitions'.

Please remeber that this season you voted to have games played at a set venue. Please make sure you pay particularly close attention to the AM/ PM time slot listed against your tie.

Muras Cup

Northumberland retainded their hold on the Muras Cup trophy following two victories today (Sat 28th May) over Lancashire and Yorkshire. In the am game Northumberland defeated Lancashire by 39 shots (117-78) and collected 21 of the 22 match points available.

 

Alsop Cup

Northumberland made a wining start to the campaign this afternoon (Sat 28th May) with a 58 shot victory over Lancashire and collecting all 22 match points. Rinks scores as follows: C Armstong, S Miller, D Bolton, G Donkin won 23-13; J Miller, P Mason, P Proctor & I Dickinson won 18-17; L Jones, M hayden, M Raftree & M Simmonette won 29-10; R Goldsmith, F Short, G Richardson & P Dawson won 21-16; D Morrison, A Hall, Jack Taylor & L Birch won 31-14; B Callum, P Brookwell, A Fantozzi & R Donkin won 18-12. Northumberland 140 Lancashire 82 (22 pts to 0)

 

Edwardson Cup

The Quarter-Finals of the Edwardson Cup were played this evening (Thursday 26th May) with holders Gosforth BC losing their grip on the trophy when they were defeated by Fossway, who now go on to play St Georges in the semi-finals after their win over Portland BC. The other semi-final will be contested between Seghill B C and Backworth Welfare who defeated Gosforth Garden Village and Health & Security respectively.

Semi-Finals are to be played on a nuetral venue and are scheduled for Thursday 2nd June

 

Two Bowl Singles

Following Monday's 3rd Round ties both finalists from 2015 remain in contention for the title. Holder Karl Jameson (St) defeated Dave Morrison (Pd)15-9, whilst last year's runner up Simon Richardson (G) ousted Simon Taws. Record holder Brian Houghton (G) is also through to the quarter-finals following his 15-12 win over club colleague Jason McKenna 15-12. Jonathan King (FS) needed an extra end to overcome Steve Pallas (G) 17-16

 

Jubilee Cup

The second stages of the Jubilee Cup were completed today (Sunday 22nd May) at Benfield and Cramlington; with a total of 16 clubs taking part. At Cramlington, the current holders North Shields West End (NSWE) collected maximum points with 3 narrow victories; in the other group Newbiggin "A" qualified, this is despite losing the first game.
