Double Rink Champions

Today, Sunday 26th August was the last of our County Championships where Ponteland took on Benfield in the Double Rinks.

Hooray for Hexham!

Hexham Elvaston had all the glory today as they secured the titles for both the 2 and 4 bowl Champion of Champions.

2019 Returns / Submissions

To be returned to George Batey by 31st October; early returns are very much appreciated. The returns include league and cup entrees, as well as competition entrees, and membership list(s).



County Dinner 

The BNMS will take place on Saturday 3rd November. All championship, cup and league winners are expected to attend this great evening. All enquiries to George Batey.

County President's Game

Bowls Northumberland President's Game took place on Wednesday 5th against Bowls Bedfordshire at Gosforth. The game was a victory for our President Jim Holmes, with the score being 125 - 106.


BE Finals - Weekend

BE finals continued with the Senior Singles on Saturday & Pairs on Sunday. We had mixed results with our senior singles representative Gosforth's Richard Train losing to Berkshire but our pairs representative Ian Brown & Paul Ging scored a good win.


BE Triples - Thursday

Both of our representatives were in action today & after yesterday's impressive prelim win for the Newbiggin trio they were against Barry Wheeler (Middlesex B) & Chris Yeomans (G) faced his international colleague Northamptonshire's Jamie Walker.


BE Finals - Triples

Wednesday PM saw the start of the triples for our Newbiggin trio led by Lee Birch, with a preliminary tie against Alan Simon (Old Coulsdon, Surrey A) and Lee recorded an impressive 22 - 1 victory. This puts Lee through to round 1 where they face Middlesex B.


BE Finals - Fours Start - updated

Monday am brought the start of the 4's competition, with Chris Yeomans (G) & Graeme Donkin's (RY) fours' in action. Our county champions Chris Yeomans were against Neil Corbyn (Wellingborough, Northamptonshire) and unfortunately went down 15-25. There was better news for our first timers at the finals - with Graeme Donkin's quartet scoring a good 22-17 victory over Bedfordshire's Tom Cawdell.
