Double Rink Delay

County Double rink Final between Amble and Burradon is now on Tuesday 31st August 10.30am  at Gosforth West Ave. due to both teams having players away to the Finals at Leamington Spa.

Jubilee Cup

Benfield and Ponteland came face to face in the last match of this year's final with the winners guaranteed to lift the trophy, a drawn game would have been sufficient for Benfield to succeed. Despite Ponteland taking an early lead Benfield scored on the last few ends to secure their second success in this event.

1st - Benfield 6pts +16

2nd - Ponteland 4pts +2

3rd - Newbiggin B 2pts +1

4th - NSWE 0pts -18

And then there were Four!

Eighty Nine competitors started out but only four remain in the Singles Championship; of those Paul Ging is the only competitor with previous success, having won this title back in 1999.

Tonight (Mon 10th July) Ging travelled to Alnwick and returned triumphant with a 21-11 victory over Ray Topping. His opponent in the semi-final will be Percy's David Leslie who narrowly defeated Alan Stewart (NB) 21-19. An even closer contest was played out at the Fossway with Gary Lambert a 21-20 winner over International Josh Minto (G). The biggest and most impressive win of the evening was Darren Parkes 21-6 win over Michael Simmonette at Walker.

Triples Championship

Backworth's Paul Ging defeated strong favourites Chris Yeomans & Co courtesy of an extra-end (17-16) to earn a semi-final tie against Michael Bennett (G). It was not such good news for club colleague Ian Brown though, as he lost by a single shot at home to Portland's John Taylor. Gary Myerscough came out on top in the battle of the St Georges trio's, with a comfortable win over Karl Jameson (25-10) and will now play Taylor with a place at the National Finals at stake.

Pairs Championship

2016 champions Josh Minto & Chris Yeomans (G) are through to the semi-finals following an 8 shot win over Ronnie Kier & Karl Jameson (ST). Standing between them and qualification to the National Finals will be Portland's Gren Richardson, who had a 19-16 success over Craig Cooper (G). The other semi-final will see Jack Miller up against club colleague Mick McGreevy, following their victories over Paul Ging (BW) and Philip Harvey (G) respectively.

Fours Championship

St Georges Neil Aitchison & Co took full avantage of a home tie with an emphatic 23-1 win over Gosforth's Brian Duall and are now one win away from qualifying for Leamington Spa. Their opponents in the semi-finals will be Hexham Elvaston's Darren Cooper.
