Double Rink Champions

Today, Sunday 26th August was the last of our County Championships where Ponteland took on Benfield in the Double Rinks.

Hooray for Hexham!

Hexham Elvaston had all the glory today as they secured the titles for both the 2 and 4 bowl Champion of Champions.

2019 Returns / Submissions

To be returned to George Batey by 31st October; early returns are very much appreciated. The returns include league and cup entrees, as well as competition entrees, and membership list(s).



County Dinner 

The BNMS will take place on Saturday 3rd November. All championship, cup and league winners are expected to attend this great evening. All enquiries to George Batey.

Triples Opening Round

The 1st round of the triples competition was played this evening; in some ties there was late drama - with Mark Terry (HX) triple scoring a 4 on the last end to win at Portland by 1, Graeme Donkin (RY) went one better and scored a 5 on the last end, also to win by 1 at Rockcliffe, and finally there was an extra end required to seperate Norman Keith (GV) and Clive Knott (HE), with the Garden Village men coming out on top.


Edwardson Holders Crash Out

The 1/4 finals of the Edwardson Cup were played tonight, and saw an upset with holders Backworth Welfare crashing out. Walker were the victorious winners and took the tie by 20+ shots and the game finished prematurely at 15 ends. In the other quarter final ties the winners were Gosforth, Rockcliffe and Portland.


2 Bowl Singles Update

Monday evening saw the progression of the 2 Bowl Singles, with 3 former champions still in the hunt. These are current 4-Bowl Singles Champion & 2011 winner Backworth's Paul Ging who had a good victory at North Shields; 1994 champion Gosforth's Michael Bennett had a good tussle against Colin Holmes before securing a win, and the final previous winner is 2-times champion Wooler's Brian Davidson received another walk-over.


Jubilee Cup Stage 2 Results

The 2nd stages of the Jubilee Cup were played today, with Cramlington and Benfield hosting. The four qualifiers going through to the final willl be Cramlington "B", Seaton Sluice, Walker and Cramlington "A".


White Rose Loss

The Northumberland White Rose (under 25's double rinks) team went down to defeat against local neighbours Durham at Gosforth BC earlier today (Sun 20th May). Durham will now go forward to the regional finals at Kirkbymoorside. The final score being 33 - 54.
