Double Rink Champions

Today, Sunday 26th August was the last of our County Championships where Ponteland took on Benfield in the Double Rinks.

Hooray for Hexham!

Hexham Elvaston had all the glory today as they secured the titles for both the 2 and 4 bowl Champion of Champions.

2019 Returns & County Dinner

2019 Returns / Submissions

To be returned to George Batey by 31st October; early returns are very much appreciated. The returns include league and cup entrees, as well as competition entrees, and membership list(s).



County Dinner 

The BNMS will take place on Saturday 3rd November. All championship, cup and league winners are expected to attend this great evening. All enquiries to George Batey.

League Results

Just to advise there will be a slight delay in publishing league results this week. This is due to the League Secretary changing broadband suppliers and work involved in this process. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. 


Alsop Cup Selection

Northumberland's Alsop Cup programme starts against Lancashire at St. Georges BC on Saturday 2nd June at 2pm. The following side has been selected: -

2 Bowl 1/4 Finals

Monday saw the quarter finals of the 2 Bowl Singles, and the first representatives to the men's semi final programme. 3 of the 4 ties were not good for home players, as they were all defeated, with only past champion Wooler's Brian Davidson edging out Gosforth's Michael Bennett gaining a home win.


Muras Cup Retained

Northumberland's Muras Cup team went in to their double header today, looking to overcome their opening defeat at Cumbria last weekend. Northumberland played Durham first at Gosforth, and then Yorkshire at Ponteland in the afternoon. Northumberland team had a great day, won both games and retained the Muras Cup.


Balcomb Defeat

Northumberland Balcomb Team (County Double Rinks) played Yorkshire this afternoon at St. Georges BC. Yorkshire started well with both rinks being up at the 5 end stage, this was further built on at 10 ends with the score extending to a 15 shot lead. Unfortunately, Northumberland couldn't make any in roads to this deficit and conceded with 3 ends to play - with the score being Northumberland 30 Yorkshire 51.
