BN Men's Section AGM

A reminder to all the BN Men's Section AGM will take place at the Parks on Sunday 2nd December 2018.

 

The meeting will start at 10am prompt. 

 

All papers have already been circulated to Club Secretaries.

Top Club Progress

BE Top Club is progressing with 2 clubs in contention; Backworth Welfare and New Delaval. In particular New Delaval have recorded 2 outstanding results - firstly defeating former National Champions Gosforth and then defeating St. Georges' away. They will now have home advantage against Backworth - Backworth have defeated Portland and Hexham House.

Singles 2nd Round Update

Monday evening brought the start of the second round ties with the top half being played. Two former champions Gosforth's Richard Train (3 times champion) and Brian Houghton stayed on track with decisive victories - over reigning 2 Bowl Champion Jonny Morgan (BW) and Ian Webb (BD) respectively.

 

Challenge Cup Starts

This Saturday (9th June) sees the start of 2018 Northumberland Challenge Cup.

Heaton Victoria

 

Play at each venue starts at 10:30am

4 Bowl Singles

Monday saw the first round of the blue ribband event - the 4-Bowl Singles. In the 1st round there is no fewer than 7 former singles champions due to play.

 

Alsop Team Win

The Alsop Cup team started their 2018 campaign with a decisive home win against Lancashire at St. Georges. Northumberland started well, and had a 32 shot advantage at 5 ends, this was extended further to 42 shots at the midway point. This continued and Northumberland increased their lead over the last few ends, and ran out worthy winners - with the score being 159 to 88, and collected 18 of the 22 points.
