The Men's Semi-Finals start Friday with the following games. I will be updating with live scoring (where possible), and on this section I will only show the final result.

Latest News - Womens

Over 55 Rinks

G Stapylton and team qualify for Nationals as they beat County president R Brown (AK) at Benfield, they ended the game with 2 ends to play due to the adverse weather.

They'll be waiting until Sunday 22nd to see if they play N Craig (BU) or A Daley (AK) in the final at Forest Hall as the other game was called off due to flooding, tied 18 all with 2 ends rremaining.

The final will take place12 pm at Forest Hall.

 
Stella Logan vs Durham

Friday 13th proved unlucky for the Stella Logan team as they brought home 3 points, only losing the overall game by 6 shots. Northumberland 111 vs Durham 117.

The team now have a long time to recover, as their next match away to Cumbria does not take place until after Nationals at Leamington on 31st August.

Cups & Semi-Finals

JUBILEE CUP

 

Jubilee Cup was played Sunday - and the winners were Cramlington "B".  The runners up were Seaton Sluice.

 

Congratulations to all players and clubs, along with other finalists - Cramlington "A" and Walker.

SEMI-FINALS

The semi-finals will be played across 4 days, starting on Friday evening at Gosforth BC and finishing at Portland BC on Monday evening.

 

The programme for the Men's Semi Finals can be found here.

 

To note the semi-final programme will include 3 finals - U18 Singles, Junior Pairs and Senior Fours.

2 Bowl Singles Underway

Tonight saw the start of the main competitions with the 2 bowl singles. Holder Jonny Morgan (BW) had already gone out (as tie played early) with Colin Holmes (ST) returning to the sport after a few years gaining a great win.

 

County Selection 2018

The selection for 2018 County Teams will be the responsilbity of the appointed Team Managers. 

Middleton/Muras/Balcomb - as no team manager teams will be selected by J Holmes & R Miller with G.E. Batey as Administrator. 

Alsop - M Wilson (Team Manager), assisted by D Illingworth. K Rowe (Administrator).

 

Reminder - Mixed Pairs and Senior Fours

Just a reminder for the Mixed Pairs and Senior Fours Competition and the rules. The dates shown are "play by" dates and 3 dates need to be offered by "The Challenger" within the given timeframes.

Score Books and Score Cards are for sale to all clubs - Men's and Ladies, with the following costs / and quantities: -

Score Books - £2.50 each or £10.00 for 5 books

Score Cards - £2.50 for 100 or £10 for 500 cards

 

Honorary Vice-Presidents Association

Honorary Vice-Presidents Association or HVP's is an important part of Bowls Northumberland and membership is available to any male member of a club. The games are played across the county, against many different clubs / or associations. If you are interested in playing and becoming a member of the HVP's please contact Ken Liddle.
