The warm sunshine enhanced the lovely setting at Hexham Elvaston today, Sunday, for our 4 Wood & 2 Wood finals.

County Match v Cumbria

Our ladies played a Stella Logan game today against Cumbria.

The final of the 4 Wood singles was decided to day when the semifinals were played at Benfield BC.

Northumberland v Yorshire.

Northumberland Northern Trophy Team played Yorkshire today (Friday) at Hexham Elvaston.

Northumberland v Yorkshire

Northumberland travelled to York Railway Institute on Friday to play Yorkshire in a Stella Logan Match.  The match was played in good spirits with only a couple of heavy showers to contend with.  Thanks to members of our host club for their hospitalty.

Northumberland played well and fought hard but lost the the game by 18 shots.

Teams were :

J Pritt, D Arris, G Davies, S Taylor (SK) 16 - 20.  H Sisterson, C Anderson, J Eley, A Miller (SK) 20 -14.  E Davidson, S Wilkinson, S Carter, V Sadler (SK) 18 -25.  D Womphrey, B Boaden, M Griffiths, H Sim (SK) 13 - 26.  M McNally, B Adamson, R Robinson, G Stapylton (SK) 10 -22.  L Campbell, M Maddison, E Timoney, J Richardson (SK) 27 -15.

Our next game is a Walker Cup match (doubke rinks) against Durham on Sunday 23rd June at Houghton Dairy Lane 1.30 am start.

Teams are: A Robson, M Cowan, M Redford, R Brown (SK).  V Middleton, K Proctor, J Allen, N Craig (SK).  Reserves: P Patterson  S Wilkinson.

Our next county match is Friday 28th June when our Northern Trophy team play Yorkshire at Hexham (Elvaston).

Norhumberland V Durham at Stockton

Northumberland played Durham in a Stella Logan match on Friday at Stockton BC.  It was a lovely warm day and as usual the welcome and hospitality provided by the Stockton members was superb.

However, unfortunately we again were well beaten by Durham with only one rink winning. The overall score was 72 shots to 159.
