Championship update - 13th August.

In an agonisingly close game, Northumberland's S Storey (G) lost out of progressing to the next round by a mere 2 shots against Somerset.

No rest for the wicked as S Carter (HX) has her 2 wood debut tomorrow against Cornwall commencing at 2pm.

With regret, E Emmerson (PE) has had to withdraw. We wish her a speedy recovery and  hope to see her on the bowling green soon.

We continue to be unlucky as K Proctor (BD) took an early exit it the prelims of the triples, they suffered a 15-11 defeat off Cambs.

S Storey (G) will be looking to finish her Championship campaign on a high as they take on Somerset on Monday at 9:30 AM

Championship update - 11th August.

Benfield's P Browne represented Northumberland today in the Senior Singles. In her first round she faced fellow Northerner, M Eccles from Cumbria with a comfortable 21-13 win where she progressed through to the last 16. Once again she faced a Northern County, S Allen from Yorkshire for a place in the quarter finals. However wasn't meant to be and was defeated 21-19.

Northumberland back in action tomorrow afternoon as K Proctor (BD) takes on Cambridgeshire in the triples.

Championship update - 10th August.

This was B Perry's (BU) first appearance in the national singles , beginners luck wasn't on her side today as she was beaten 21-3 by Nottinghamshire. Our county President, R Brown (AK) was also beaten, 21-11 against Somerset. Ray has high hopes for a better run in the pairs next week.

Northumberland will not bowl again until tomorrow (12:30pm), where P Browne (BD) will play the winner of Cumbria and Cornwall

Championship update - 8th August.

After a solid performance in earlier rounds, Benfield's C Gardner and team were defeated in the last 16 of their National Championship debut by Nottinghamshire 23-15.

Notts have since progressed to the semi final where they face Devon.

Northumberland Women will be back in action on Friday with representatives from R Brown AK and B Perry BU in the 4 wood singles.
